The Manifesto of the 343 Sluts (le manifeste des 343 salopes), is a declaration signed by 343 women admitting to having had an abortion, thereby exposing themselves to criminal prosecution. The manifesto appeared in the French magazine Le Nouvel Observateur on April 5, 1971.
The text of the manifesto was written by Simone de Beauvoir. Here’s the beginning:
“One million women in France have an abortion every year.
Condemned to secrecy, they have them in dangerous conditions when this procedure, performed under medical supervision, is one of the simplest.
These women are veiled in silence.
I declare that I am one of them. I have had an abortion.
Just as we demand free access to birth control, we demand the freedom to have an abortion.”
The women above are Françoise Sagan, Simone de Beauvoir, Gisèle Halimi & Catherine Deneuve.

Let me tell you a little something about Anna Quindlen. You know those people who say that feminism isn’t necessary, or that women should be happy with what they’ve got and stop complaining? AQ called BULLSHIT on that, sister.
Whoa Nelly, Quindlen argues that “The F Word” is still necessary in the modern world.
She also writes for The New York Times and has 12 honorary degrees.
Suck on that, chauvinists.
Try not to wet your pants, but these women are Jennifer Baumgardner and Amy Richards, co-authors ofManifesta: Young women, feminism and the future.
Baumgardner is the former editor of Ms. Magazine, and masterminded the I Had an Abortion and I Was Raped Projects. She has also written a book about her experiences as a bisexual. The personal is the political, fool.
Amy Richards blogs on feminist.com and has written about her pregnancies from a feminist perspective.
These third wave feminists will FUCK YOU UP. And by you, we mean the patriarchy.
Oh shit, who’s this classy lady here? Just Margaret Motherfucking Sanger, here to found Planned Parenthood and to coin the term birth control.
Shit son, this woman was arrested for sharing info on BC. This hardened criminal would like to know if you remembered to take your pill today, because if you have, you can thank her.
Word.
(Editor’s Note: We recognize Sanger’s contributions to the women’s movement but in no way to we support the idea of eugenics or forced sterilization.)
This is an adorable kitten.
FUCKING LOOK AT IT, TOO.
This is Peggy McIntosh. She works at Wellesley. Her most famous piece is “White Privilege and Male Privilege: A Personal Account of Coming to See Correspondences through Work in Women’s Studies.”
FUCKING LOOK AT HER.
